Submission Guidelines
Article Types
We accept the following types of articles:
- Original Articles: Reports of original research (max 4000 words)
- Case Reports: Descriptions of interesting or unusual cases (max 2000 words)
- Reviews: Comprehensive reviews of current topics (max 5000 words)
- Editorials: Opinion pieces on relevant topics (max 1500 words)
- Letters to the Editor: Brief communications (max 800 words)
Manuscript Preparation
General Guidelines
- Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise English
- Use double spacing and 12-point font
- Number all pages consecutively
- Include line numbers for ease of review
Structure
Original articles should follow this structure:
- Title Page: Title, authors, affiliations, corresponding author details
- Abstract: Structured abstract (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions) - max 300 words
- Keywords: 4-6 keywords
- Introduction: Background and objectives
- Methods: Study design, participants, procedures, statistical analysis
- Results: Main findings
- Discussion: Interpretation, limitations, implications
- Conclusion: Brief summary of main findings
- References: Vancouver style
Ethical Considerations
- All research involving human subjects must have ethics committee approval
- Informed consent must be obtained for case reports and identifiable patient data
- Conflicts of interest must be disclosed
- Authors must confirm that the work is original and not under consideration elsewhere

Review Process
All submissions undergo initial editorial review followed by double-blind peer review. Authors can expect an initial decision within 4-6 weeks of submission. Accepted articles are typically published online within 2-4 weeks of acceptance.
Publication Charges
There are no article processing charges (APCs) for publishing in Pediatric Surgery in Tropics. All articles are freely accessible to readers worldwide.
